Корпорация Nokia разработала для владельцев Symbian 9.х новую бесплатную программу - Nokia Audiobooks.

Nokia Audiobooks - программа, которая позволяет прослушивать аудио книги на смартфоне благодаря очень эффективной звуковой технологии сжатия, оптимизированной для голоса (AMR-WB).
Программа включает в себя два модуля: Audiobook Player для S60 и Audiobook Manager для ПК под Windows. Nokia Audiobook Player специально создан для прослушивания голоса, что выделяет его среди остальных плееров, которые оптимизированы для прослушивания музыки. Nokia Audiobook Player позволяет прослушивать аудиокниги, настраивать закладки, автоматически продолжать прослушивание с прерванного места. Также плееру можно задать выключение через определенный промежуток времени.

Nokia Audiobook Manager позволяет конвертировать WAV или MP3-файлы в формат ABR-WB.
Для перекодирования из формата mp3, необходимо будет скачать и поместить файл lame.exe в папку Nokia Audiobook Manager
Программа использует кодек AMR-WB (Adaptive Multi Rate-WideBand оптимизированный для записи голоса с высокой компрессией) для сжатия аудиофайлов формата MP3 и WAV. Благодаря этому можно сжать аудиокниги формата MP3 с битрейтом 64 или 126 к/сек примерно в 5-10 раз.
Созданные книги (а именно папку с книгой не меняя названия) нужно будет поместить в папку audiobooks на карте памяти телефона или в память телефона. Полный путь к папке: e:/audiobooks/ (или c:/audiobooks/) если таковой нету то создаем.
